VNQM CDR Question

I've run into some trouble with CDR reporting in my Cisco CallManager environment. We have a 3rd party CDR billing server and I've configured my CUCM Publishers (yes, plural) in VNQM to download CDRs from the Billing FTP server. I've confirmed the credentials are correct. My polling interval is set for 10 minutes as we process a lot of calls. I think I've discovered my issue and I fear there's no fix for it.

According to the linked article, Missing call records (CDR files) in VNQM when working with an FTP - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

According to Issue II below, the cluster name must be the default, standalonecluster. Since we are in a multi-cluster environment aka an SME CallManager architecture we update the cluster ID of each Cluster for call accounting purposes. Can the Solarwinds CCMmonitoring table be updated for a different cluster name or mulitple cluster names? Unfortunely, setting the Cluster ID back to the default is not an option and it's shame we couldn't use this feature if there's no other option.

Issue II.

1. Check files in FTP, note the file name specifically the cluster name IE: cdr_standalonecluster_01...

2. Check the CCMmonitoring table in the Solarwinds Database and verify the ClusterName column matches the     standalonecluster section of the filename listed above.

3. If they do not match, remove the Call Manager from VNQM and re-add it to see if it will re-sync.

4. Recheck the CCMmonitoring table if it still shows bad data then continue if not it should be resolved.

5.  If not, perform an SNMPwalk and verify that what is being returned for the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.156.1.1.2.1.8     it should match the standalonecluster from the file name, if it does not match the customer needs to work with     Cisco to clear the stale data or fix the mismatch.

Serv-U Red hat Linux Home DIr Issue 15.1.4

My Home Directory for all users, Local users to Serv-U and Active Directory are all Sub directories of /home/servusers , ex: /home/servusers/testuser1

When Active Directory user login via 443 and port 22 they go right in to their Home DIRS, No problem here.

When login accounts to Serv-U are used, port 22 users login right into Home Dirs using sftp, filezilla, pscp.exe work fine, No Problem here.

But when local created account to Serv-U login in via https "Port 443" the users login into their Parent Directory and not their Home Dir. Even know I have them set to Lock in to their own Dir they can see other users files. I have tried to set Directory Access all different way in each local account with no Luck. I all side tied to use a Group Template with no Luck. Again this only happens with HTML for 443.

I am running 15.1.4 on Red Hat Linux 6.8

I will be on Vacation from 12/22 to 1/3/2017

Some simple questions ( I think )

Hi All,

I am working in a hospital in the Netherlands as a PACS admin. While our IT department have chosen to follow the XDS way, we choosed the simple way. Serv-U...:-)

It's been a long time ago since I played with ftp and file sharing software and I have forgotten most of it. But I do have some questions hoping someone can answer them:

When I send a link to a customer they must login with the password I generated. Is this password suppost to be send automatically to the recipient ?

I know how to send invites to down or upload files, but how do I invite someone to up or download files through FTP ?

Thanks in advance.

Integrating FTP Client....

We have Serv-U FTP server for large file transferring. We will be showing the FTP file links in one of our web sites for users to download them. Now when user clicks on this FTP link for downloading instead of asking our users to use Serv-U Web Client or FTP Voyager separately, we want users to download them from our site directly. i.e We want to integrate the Serv-U FTP client into one of our existing Web Site/Application . Do we have any SDK or Libraries for integrating FTP client with our web site. We want to provide a unique look and feel for our end users. If we redirect our end users to Serv-U web client or FTP Voyager, user will confuse and come to know that we are using some other tools.

How to connect to FTP server

$

I have (I believe) set up my FTP server correctly and it is running.  My question is (and I know I must be missing something horribly basic here since I can't find it answered anywhere), what is the host IP address that I should be using to access that server from another computer (not on my network) in the FTP client (e.g. Filezilla).  I can access the FTP server from my own computer using the 192.168.X.X address, but that is obviously not accessible from another computer connected over the internet.  How do I find the IP address for my server for an external computer?

Thanks,

Integrating Serv-U MFP with Active Directory

I am having difficulty integrating Serv-U MFP with our active directory.  I have no problem creating accounts directly on the server and accessing it.  Serv-U does sit in our DMZ, which I thought I saw someplace that this could be a problem.  I do have a read only domain control in my DMZ, so I would think that I shouldn't have a problem.  Not sure what I am doing wrong.  I check the box to do Windows Authentication and then I check the box Use Windows User Group.  I do this because I do not have home directories setup in my active directory.  It appears I have everything setup properly.  When logging in though, I either get an invalid username and/or password....or I lock up the server and it takes a bit to unlock (no reboot or restart necessary).  What do you think I am doing wrong?

Hi - was wondering if anyone knows how to auto trigger an e-mail event if any file(s) are copied into a user's home folder or sub-folder under their home folder?

It appears this can be done using the Event functionality but I'm unfamiliar with this process.

Thanks!

Public Key Only authentication problem

I am trying to setup an FTP server using Serv-U that would ONLY require PUBLIC KEY authentication.

I've set the option in Limits & Settings | Password | SSH authentication type to "Public Key Only"
When I attempt the connection from the Unisys ClearPath MCP system client, the PublicKey authentication passes, but then there seems to be an attempt to do perform password authentication as well, which always fails.

I've tried disabling the PASS command; I've set the user's password to an empty value and also to just a single character but even that fails.

Does anyone have an idea on how to get around this?

Is Serv-U v15.x Windows Server 2016 or Windows 10 compatible?  If not is this in the roadmap at some point?

We are currently running it on Server 2008 R2 but are being forced to upgrade to 2012 or 2016 (preferably 2016).

We have deployed Serv-U MFT version 15.1.4.6 ( in Australia, Eastern Standard Time ) on Windows Server 2012 - 64 bit (6.2.9200) and are now in production with clients accessing the MFT system.

Does anyone have a process or update (patch) that needs to be performed for Daylight savings

Please advise any recommended process or patch update so that we can ensure that the MFT service is provided to our clients

Thanks

Encryption Keys - What does Serv-U support

$

I am new to encryption keys and have a vendor that is requesting the use of PGP encryption keys.  I looked through the documentation and saw something about puTTy not supported.  Are PGP keys supported?  I'm going with RSA format.  I did send them the key that I generated from Serv-U and they couldn't use that one for whatever reason.  They didn't like the puTTy key either.

Serv-U version 15.1.0.

Thank you,

Serv-U ODBC reconnect timeout

$

Hi

Is there any way to change the default reconnect timeout for ODBC connections, described in this KB article:

SQL Server Restarted/Failed, Serv-U ODBC Users Do Not Work

We have a high availability SQL setup where we have setup the Serv-U database with SQL Mirroring to another server's instance.

I've created a ODBC DNS with the Failover Server parameter, and it works as intended, it takes around 5-10 seconds for the database to come online after the failover.

My only problem is that i cannot get around the 5 minuttes that it takes for Serv-U to reestablish its connection to the database.

I think that the reason given in the article is outdated, as 5 minuttes is a VERY long timeout to set to prevent flooding - from my testing experience the ODBC disconnect seems to paralyse existing connections.

Any help is much appreciated!

File Sharing email links bear the Serv-U IP address, not FQDN.

$

We are testing our first install of a Serv-U MFT server using the HTTPS features.

The server is an AD member server with an AD FQDN of server12.foo.pvt and an internal, private IP address.

There is an external DNS name for the server of filedrop.ourdomain.org using a public IP address.

We are terminating our SSL connections to the server at a proxy (F5 appliance) using the public IP and our valid SSL certs are installed on the F5.

Browsing to the url https://filedrop.ourdomain.org provides an approved SSL browsing experience.

When we send the email to a user telling them they have a file waiting the link is in the form of  https://nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn/?ShareToken=   where nnn... is the outside IP of the server.   That looks dodgy.  Also, when users click the link they get browser SSL warnings because the SSL cert is a wildcard for the *.ourdomain.org domain.

I've configured a virtual host in the test domain for filedro.ourdomain.org but this still generates the IP based mail links.  How do I fix it so that the mail links are https://filedrop.mydomain.org

Thanks in advance,
