FTP-Voyager: Problem with comandline

$

Hello everybody,

i recently upgraded to Windows Server 2012R2 and the newest FTP-Voyager and since then my once working batchfiles are not working anymore.

The line in question is:

start /b "" "C:\Program Files\RhinoSoft\FTP Voyager\FTP Voyager.exe" profile=my_profile autosync=1 syncoptions=0 local=E:\dir1\ remote=/dir2/ autoquit=1

It should open the program, sync the local to the remote dir and quit.

But Voyager only starts in the state I left it in the last session and the options in the comandline doesn't do anything.

Can anyone help me with this?

Regards.

Export all users in Serv-U FTP (including disabled ones)

Hi,

Currently using Serv-U FTP for Windows v11.3.0.4
We have a very large user list (in many collections) that we need to review, but the export feature with only generate a list of *active* users (ignoring all those whose account has expired/are disabled)
Is there a way to export ALL users? I have been looing for a solution online but with no luck so far

Thanks!

Can I configure which browser Serv-U uses when I press any "Help" button in the management console?  It uses IE which is not my system default.  I'd prefer FireFox.

Thanks!

Gateway Ports

All,

Looking for a bit of direction on Serv-U and the Gateway ports. We have Serv-U MFT Licence (the maintenance and support has expired because we have never got the product working, even when we were extensively troubleshooting with support - This has been ongoing for over a year) anyways// I'm trying to revive this investment.

We have a Gateway server and a management server, the gateway server has the gateway software installed and is on an internal subnet range. Looking at the listening ports within netstat, I can see that this server is not listening on ANY of the ports we would expect.

I have looked within the configuration and I can see that the listeners IP's have been specified correctly, yet these come up with an exclamation mark and the logs indicate that there's a problem as the ports aren't online which is expected, so that to me rules out licencing/config.

So the only thing I've tried to do is reinstall the gateway software which was successful, but alas still no joy. I can see the servers is communicating through our firewall on port 1800 but that's the only thing that does seem to be working.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to kick the gateway server into life? All i need is for these ports to come up and i'm sure i'll have it working.

PS. Help and documentation has been read, followed a number of articles with no joy.

Thanks

Are there any plans to remove the need for Java with the serv-u product? It's really the only pain point we have right now. Other then that Serv-U is working great.

File Sharing with IE10 or IE11?

$

When using ServU File Sharing with IE10 or IE11 the "Upload" box never progresses past 0%.  Windows EDGE works. What's up with that?

Anyone else have this issue or have seen this behavior?  Am I missing a setting in IE?

I just upgraded ServU to 15.1.3 today.  No change other then the pretty Purple logon screen.

Thoughts, Suggestions?

Thanks

Constrain individual file sizes Default

$

Hey all,

We were wondering how others handle the default of 10 MB in the "to" section of the Request File page in File Sharing.  We have
set it to require a maximum, and limited the maximum to a number quite a bit higher than that, but it still defaults to 10 MB on the entry page.  If the admin forgets to manually change that to a usable value (after all, e-mail works perfectly fine for sharing files smaller than 10 MB) when creating the file share request they have to start over, typically after the customer's upload fails.  This seems crazy, but support tells me that this is not a bug.  How do others deal with this?

Thanks!

Doubts Serv-u

1. There are some system variables not documented in http://www.serv-u.com/kb/1737/System-Variables-In-ServU or in the product manual. Ex: $FileShareTokenURL, $FileShareExpires and $FileShareComments. We need the variables that contain the Subject and Comments fields of the email sent by FileShare, email is the image below:

img1.png

2. We would like to translate the message that is sent when a file is sent to the user via File Sharing. The system sends the following message, but did not find option to translate.

img2.png

3. Another screen that would like to translate. Where the translation can be done???

4. Theres any way to run the service under a different account of the System account and has not administration permission. If possible, what privileges are needed?

Background information.

Cisco Meraki MX80 Security Appliance

Internal Server: Windows Server 2012 R2

Serv-U is the latest version

I have a 1:1 NAT rule in place Allowing HTTPS, HTTP and SSH inbound connections.  To eliminate a port issue I did at one point allow all traffic on any ports.  Issue remained and reverted changes.

The error message I get is

Creating reports from Serv-U FTP

I'm trying to create some reports from Serv-u ftp.  I'm trying to create a report that will show what login id's are expired, what id's haven't ever been logged into, etc.  I'm trying to clean up our over 500 users but can't find any reporting that can be done other than exporting the entire thing.  And the export doesn't produce all of the fields I need.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

File Sharing - Disable by default, enable for specific users/groups

$

Hi all,

Please can you tell me how to disable File Sharing functionality for users by default and then Allow File Sharing for a group of users only.

I see the "Allow File Sharing" option in Limits and Settings for Users and Groups, but by default it is 'YES'. I do not see a way of setting this to 'NO' by default and then overriding this for a user or group of users.

The reason is: Why would I want all my external users to be able to use my server to send files to anyone else. I just want my staff to be able to do it.

There is a thread here that asks for the opposite Is there a way to disable the "File Sharing"-feature for a group of Serv-U users? which I believe it implemented by overiding the Allow File Sharing option from Yes to No,.peter.kruty suggests that this feature is implemented here: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/2724#comment-180825 ...

With the new release 15.1.0 it is possible now to selectively disable and enable File Sharing on global, domain, group and user level with many limits specifically for file sharing on all levels (e.g. enforcement of password, expiration of file share and many other).

But I just do not see how this is possible in the admin panel at either server or domain level then with the ability to enable per user or group?

Thank you in advance
