Is it possible to configure Serv-U MFT to be a single sign-on client? Our Serv-U configuration supports users from our internal network and from external partners/teammates. We're in the process of configuring our Serv-U for LDAP and Windows Authentication and would like our internal users' windows to be able to open and use Serv-U without them having to logon again.

Its like it is not reading our AD domain. I do have the service running as an AD service account with read access. Each time I try to login it does increment the session count in the global activity tab but not the domain activity tab. I am running the most current version, 15.1
Should I open a ticket or does somebody have an idea of what might be wrong?

Am new to Serv-U and evaluating the product. After installing Serv-U Gateway, netstat -an only shows Gateway service listening at 127.0.0.1:1180
How do I get it to listen at the designated IP address of the LAN card?
The default login page and web client suits our need, we'd just like to replace those logo assets.
When defining a custom logo in the admin panel it looks great on the login page, but that same asset is resized for display on the web client and becomes nearly illegible.
As a work around, I found and replaced the logo files; however, the server understandably fails an integrity check and prompts for a re-install.
Is there an solution or work around for defining a second appropriately sized logo for display in the web client?

Serv-U ver 15.1.0.458
I am trying to configure email alerts in version 15.1, but am not having any luck in doing so. I have tried multiple domains and multiple ports, but with no success. I have another email alert program and am using the exact same settings that I am trying to set up in Serv-U and it works without any issue. Anyone else running into this or have any suggestions to try? Thanks!

Is there ANY way I could force Serv-U FTP v15.x to display in an iframe? Everytime I try it complains saying it cant be displayed in an iframe.
Also is there any way to force Serv-U FTP file shares to allow direct download links with guest links?

In the most recent version serv-u, you can have emails sent based on specific events that are triggered. And within the events you can have filters using values and operators. This works extremely well. However, there is a situation that arises when attackers use an automated dictionary attack that floods the destination server and generates thousands of emails within minutes.
How blocking works in serv-u.
In the global and domain level settings you set to block an ip address that connects a certain number of times within a certain time period for a determined amount of time. If you want to be alerted to an ip address that has been blocked for hammering you setup the appropriate event to distribute the email. This works as designed. However, the emailed alerts behave differently depending on the type of attack.
For instance, the same user connecting 100 times within 5 minutes generates a single denied ip alert email.
However, a dictionary attack where a different user is used for each connection will generate an email per user per connection. If the dictionary list has a thousand users and the attackers bandwidth is plentiful that translates to a thousand emails within a few minutes.
The solution would be to code some sort of alert flood control. I am not aware of such a mechanism in serv-u. I am asking the community or trolling solarwinds support representatives if there is a solution/workaround.

We have a client that is trying to switch to Web Client Pro on his Mac and is unable. The application just keeps trying to load until it times out. I found the following link on line Java for OS X 2014-001: How to re-enable the Apple-provided Java SE 6 web plug-in and Web Start features
But that gave him a "missing plug-in" error.
Any suggestions??? I am not familiar enough with Macs to trouble shoot effectively!!

I am porting Serv-U from Windows to Linux, and am working on converting some home-made batch scripts into shell scripts. I have the shell scripts working correctly so there is no issue with migration. The script collects account name and the location of the user's home folder. The purpose of the script is to send the contents of the upload directory to a list of recipients after the account disconnects the session. The list of recipients is obtained from a specified file at $recipLoc/$name.txt (see below), and for a test example the recipients file only contains one valid email address. Here is the script below.

When I execute the shell script using the console while manually defining the parameters, I am successfully able to receive an email (for example, ./Notification.sh user path/to/files 5).
The first issue I am experiencing is that there is no file being created in the temp folder of the output of the directory.
The second issue I am experiencing is that the log in Serv-U shows the script is being executed with defined parameters when the user logs out, but no email is being generated. If I check the /var/log/maillog file, there is no line item that an email was sent.
There are about 400 accounts using Serv-U so it would be easiest to get this script to work instead of modifying the configuration files for each of the 400+ accounts. Any help that you could provide will be extremely valuable.

Hi,
We are trying to configure Serv-U / MFT with 4 servers and HA. Two gateways in the DMZ and two MFT servers in the internal network. We are running into some issues with the configuration and we are wondering if someone can help.
How to Deploy Serv-U Gateway in a Cluster
At this point the only requirement is to implement FTP (21). On the firewall side we have opened port 21 (Inbound) for the gateways and port 1180 (bidirectional) from the gateways to the MFTs.
The screenshot below explains the configuration. We would appreciate If someone can rewiew it and help us out with the configuration.

RhinoSoft Serv-U version 15.1.0 Hotfix 2 can be downloaded from your customer portal or directly from here.
This HotFix corrects an issue where Serv-U Gateway does not bind to the proper port for outgoing FTP data connections.

Installation Instructions

This hotfix requires updating both Serv-U and Serv-U Gateway. The updated files are contained in a folder named after each product. Within each folder is a folder for each supported platform. Please use the binaries for your appropriate platform when updating Serv-U and Serv-U Gateway. The folder contains files, with the appropriate directory structure (if necessary), to upgrade your installations.
This hotfix requires RhinoSoft Serv-U and Serv-U Gateway version 15.1.0.

TO INSTALL:
1) Shut down all running Serv-U processes.
[Windows] Open Services from Administrative Tools, and then stop the service named "Serv-U Gateway".
[Linux] From a shell, stop the Serv-U Gateway service using: service Serv-U-Gateway stop

3) Extract the ZIP file to a temporary location.
4) Open the folder for the platform Serv-U is installed on.
For example, open the "Windows 64-bit" folder if Serv-U is installed on a 64-bit version of Windows.

C:\Program Files\RhinoSoft\Serv-U

8) Restart the "Serv-U Gateway" system service.
9) Restart the Serv-U tray application.

I know where to set the file to use a given SSH host key in Serv-U (15.1) which can contain one or the other style key.
I'd like to be able to present both the DSA and RSA type host keys to our customers, since the enviroment we migrated from alowed both key types to be available to the customers depending on their preferences.
Putting both host keys into a single file doesn't work since Serv-U only presents the first key.
I want to be able to delegate the ability to create,modify and delete Site users to my computer accounts management team. I haven't been able to find a way to do this. Is it possible? tia, Larry Price
